I spent years in retail — as a buyer at Westside, then bouncing around the startup world — basically obsessing over what makes a product worth buying.
In 2024 I started Ekaas.
Honestly? I just wanted to make beautiful things for people's homes.
That was the whole plan. But then our customers had other ideas.
They'd buy something for themselves, and then gift it to someone. A towel for a thank you. A bag for a birthday. And then they'd come back and say "she absolutely loved it."
That kept happening. Again and again.
And I was like — oh. We've been a gifting brand this whole time. We just didn't know it yet.
So here we are. Everything we make is handcrafted in India, by people who actually care about what they're making. We're not trying to be everything to everyone. We just want the person who receives an ekaas gift to feel like someone really thought about them.
